Art Direction

For the Yenching Academy of Peking University (YCA), a relatively young, interdisciplinary master's program for top students from around the globe, it was clear that its newly established academic magazine needed a visual identity that would communicate the program's ambitions, strengths, and challenges. 

The (re)invention of the Yenching Review's identity through converstaions and discussions and the dynamic interchange of over 50 different cultures with the Chinese one led to the creation of the visual identity of building blocks. Piecing together the different elements that ultimately made the Yenching Review not only a part of the YCA identity, but also established its own.

The Art Direction has been maintained by later issues.
